Fun With Flowers From Israel
Now let's play a bit with another aspect of color. We've seen how the kochia really enhances other colors. But the last several examples included warm colors.
Here is a good example of kochia being used in an arrangement that incorporates more of our so called 'cool' colors-- the blues/lavenders. It is stylized using Israeli lisianthus, kochia, and variegated pittosporum. it also incorporates some wonderful heather and curly willow. This arrangement is a line arrangement, but certainly not a classical line arrangement like Dad would have made. Once again these wonderful Israeli materials help us achieve a different look.
Isn't this arrangement neat? Look first at this vase arrangement featuring cool colors....
And then compare it with the bouquet that incorporatated kochia and warm colors!
As you can see the contrasting power of kochia works well in both situations.
