How To Make A BIG Bridal Cake Out of Flowers--Part II
Good...Glad to see that you are still with us.......Well, to the left you can see the finished product, but let's continue to show the steps that will actually get you there......
Continue adding flowers, working in a circular pattern. At each break between one section and the next you have the option of pinning the flowers flat, or of using ribbon. You can see both options illustrated in this photo....
Wow...We're starting to get there.......Now significantly more of the wreaths are
covered with flowers than are exposed.....
Tada!!!!!!.
We have covered the entire sides all the way up to the top.......But the top itself
is left bare for the moment....
Now we have various options at this stage....
For example, we could simply leave the cake as shown here....
We could add lots of ribbon bows.....
We could add some flowers randomly....
We could have some cascading foliage worked into this design.....
We could add an arrangement to the top.....
Notice how by adding an arrangement to the top the entire design becomes even larger and more interesting. The design on top features larkspur shooting out in various directions, with stargazer lilies and roses nestled into a base with ming fern.....
This assembly is glued onto a piece of styrofoam that was attached to the top wreath....
Here is the completed design. On the left is the entire piece. On the right a close up........
A number of bows, stargazer lilies and roses are picked into the base. The flowers are wired and taped prior to insertion.....
This design could be made as shown here. On the other hand it could also be adapted to much smaller projects. Any one section of this design could be used quite effectively......
We hope that you enjoyed learning about this most unusual design, as much as we did putting it together.....
